Okay, this is a small ice creamery that is attached to the State Street Market. First things first. The ice cream is authentic and hand-made. You can tell that these are produced in small batches. The flavor is intense, not watered down, and truly speak to their primary ingredients like mint, cookie, chocolate, etc. They almost feel like a gelato-like texture, rich and creamy, and again, the flavor profile is rich and itense. Now some may like it but I found it a bit too much. It totally is a unique, rare to find type of ice cream. But would I prefer this each and evey time over regular Baskin Robbins? I'm not sure. I would've still given it 5 stars had it not have been for the expensive pricing. Yes, I understand that it is in the middle of Los Altos Downtown with a small-batch artisanal ice-cream. But $8 for a scoop is pushing it. I personally had a choclate malt milke shake. It was mind-boggling to see them fit in 4+ scoops of chocolate ice cream and milk into a tall-sized (Starbucks base) cup. It was super dense and satisfying, but I just couldn't finish the entire cup. Too rich and intense. All of this, for $10.50. Penny Ice Creamery is a good "check it out" type of ice cr

Didnt get to enjoy the ice cream tonight. Website says theyre open til 9. I guess almost 9 is good enough? I figured 5 minutes would have been plenty of time to secure my single scoop. I've been here before; the ice cream is good. I had been looking forward to it. Won't be going out of my way next time. Very dissappointing.

10.04.25 Icy ice cream, Praline too sweet, Fresh Mint was good but has a bitter aftertaste, Tahitian Vanilla Bean was the winner of the 3. Ice cream melts very fast.

I heard that the ice cream is good so I gave it a try. It was a bit of disappointment as there was an ice cube in my ice cream! They didnβt make it well. I had the dark chocolate flavor. I tried their mint chip flavor and it tasted a bit weird. I am a mint chocolate person so I was surprised with their mint chip flavor. So I went with dark chocolate but it was a bit too sweet after finishing the scoop.

The penny ice creamery is part of a food court called State Street Market. It has a wide space with tables indoor & outdoor and a variety of food. options. They have a great selection of interesting new flavors. The store was tiny & there was a huge line. It took us almost 20 minutes to reach the counter. The staff were friendly. The ice cream itself was soft & buttery. We loved the unique new flavors.
